Utility Flushing Water Mains
Waunakee Utilities will be cleaning and flushing water mains in the Village starting sometime near the end of August and continuing through the month of September. This program insures the hydrants in your area are in good working order and provide routine cleaning of pipes that carry drinking water.
Some flushing will be during daylight hours, however, crews will also be working some evening hours. You may notice some discoloration during flushing or immediately after. It is not harmful to drink. To clear the discoloration, open the cold water tap for a short period of time until the water clears.
